Elizabeth McDade is a board-certified oncology pharmacist (BCOP) from Chattanooga, Tennessee. As the Clinical Pharmacy Lead for CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy®, she drives clinical strategy for the oncology program and oversees the Cancer Center of Excellence.
Education
McDade completed her undergraduate degree in 2014 at East Tennessee State University before earning her Pharm.D. (doctorate in pharmacy) from the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy. She became a BCOP in 2018 and played an integral role in helping CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy gain the Accreditation Commission for Health Care’s Distinction in Oncology award for 2023.
Past work
Before joining CenterWell Specialty Pharmacy, McDade worked as an Oncology Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. She also worked as a Palliative Care Clinical Pharmacy Specialist and Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

I can educate on best practices for oncology and new therapies and implement clinical programs to support patients, caregivers and providers. I enjoy working across the department to execute new services that truly keep patient care at the center.”
Awards and recognition
During her residency years, McDade had both her postgraduate year 1 and year 2 projects published in academic journals. In 2021, she was awarded the Humana Pharmacy Solutions® President’s Award for exemplifying the organization’s values.
Personal life
McDade dedicates a lot of her time to discussing the topic, including a guest appearance on the OncoPharm podcast in 2022.
Based on personal experiences from family and friends who have battled cancer, McDade is passionate about providing high-quality care to patients and their families.
